Terms: This is a casual, part time job, which requires working days and evenings.

Salary: will be $16.00 to $17.00 per hour for a 6 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, Human Services Diploma, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Social service agency

Target Groups or Clients: Male, Adolescents, Persons with mental health disabilities

Specific Skills: Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, Develop, coordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment

Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence, Travel expenses paid by employer

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning

Other Information: Provide support services to a male youth with mental health issues. Promote participation in recreation activities, be a positive role model and redirect youth as required.
