Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days and weekends.

Salary: will be $18.00 to $25.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Tilesetter Trade Certification.

Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Commercial, Residential

Area of Specialization: General tilesetting (floors, walls, ceilings, etc.), Ceramics, Marble and granite, Glass mosaics or murals

Materials Used: Ceramic, Mosaic, Marble, Quarry, Slate, Stone, Granite

Specific Skills: Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered, Mix, apply and spread adhesive substances, Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base, Align and straighten tiles, Cut and fit tiles around obstacles, Pack grout into joints and between tiles, Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, Determine best layout of tiles, Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite

Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Estimate labour and material costs

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance

Own Tools/Equipment: Safety equipment/gear

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads
