Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $20.83 to $25.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, completed college or technical training.

Experience: the best part of a year.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Firefighter Trade Certification, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001- level 1, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001- level 2, Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator NFPA 1002 certification, Air brakes endorsement, Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B), Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediate (EMT-I), Emergency Medical Technician - Ambulance (EMT-A), Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMT- P), Primary Care Paramedic (PCP), Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP), Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate, Cardiac Arrest Management certificate, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate, Critical Care Transport endorsement, CPR certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Type of Fire Fighting Experience: Municipal department, Provincial government, Federal government, Industrial services, Airport services, Forest services, Volunteer department

Specific Skills: Respond to fire alarms and other calls for assistance, Control and extinguish fires using manual and power equipment, Administer first-aid and other assistance, Maintain firefighting equipment, Participate in cleaning up spills of chemicals and biological agents and other toxic substances, Stop natural gas or chlorine leaks, Provide paramedical aid to accident victims or ill persons, Provide fire prevention education programs, Co-ordinate the work of other firefighters, Supervise other firefighters

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Driver’s validity licence check
