Terms: This is a temporary, part time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $14.98 per hour for a 14 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have some college or technical training.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, Human Services Diploma.

Work Setting: Community or neighbourhood centre, Social service agency

Target Groups or Clients: Persons with learning disabilities

Type of Community or Social Service: Education or training, Programs dealing with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

Specific Skills: Implement life skills workshops, Develop, coordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community

Additional Skills: Food preparation

Security and Safety: Criminal record check

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation

Work Location Information: Urban area

Ability to Supervise: 5-10 people

Essential Skills: Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing

Other Information: This position entails planning, organizing and implementing a community based kitchen. The activity worker will encourage/facilitate clients’ participation in a educationally based social activity.
