Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $20.00 to $25.00 per hour for a 37 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Area of Drywall and Lath Installation Specialization: Acoustical ceilings, Metal lath ceilings, Bearing wall and heavy gauge work, Exterior prefabricated wall and partition systems, Fabric walls, Ducts, elevator shafts and stairwells, Sound baffling, Mechanical ceilings, Textured ceilings, Decorative finishes and accessories

Specific Skills: Clean and prepare surfaces, Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency, Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster, Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exterior surfaces, Finish corners and angles, Mould and install ornamental fixtures, Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings, Measure, cut and fit and install drywall sheets, Cut and install metal corner beads, Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks, Tape over joints with tape and compound, Sand seams and joints, Fabricate grids for acoustical and coffered ceilings, Install metal stud framing and furring, Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring, Cut openings in laths for piping, ducts and electrical outlets, Utilize laser alignment system, Install exterior and interior steel studs, Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation, Erect scaffolding

Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Estimate labour and material costs, Prepare tenders and quotations, Work at heights, Instruct apprentices, Supervise other workers
