Terms: This is a seasonal, full time job, which requires working days and weekends.

Salary: will be $130.00 to $150.00 per for a 40 hour week.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Search and Rescue Training, Industry Risk Management Training, Customer Service Training.

Recreational Concentration: White water rafting

Type of Clients: All ages

Work Setting: Private business, Outdoor centre

Activity Focus: Leading/instructing individuals, Leading/instructing groups, Patrolling/supervising activities

Specific Skills: Demonstrate and instruct athletic, fitness or sports activities and techniques, Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs, Plan and carry out fitness and sports activities, Plan and carry out recreational activities, Attend to clients with special needs, Enforce safety rules and regulations, Understand principles of group dynamics, Mediate disputes, Schedule activities

Additional Skills: Provide emergency or first aid assistance, Ensure safety of rescuers and victims at accident scenes, Assist with special events, Prepare reports, Maintain and repair sports equipment, Train and supervise staff, Keep logs and maintain records

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence

Work Location Information: Staff accommodation available, Rural community, Remote location

Ability to Supervise: More than 20 people

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Wet/damp, In/on water

Essential Skills: Oral communication, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing
