Terms: This is a casual, part time job, which requires working days, evenings, and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, completed college or technical training.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Continuing care assistant certification.

Work Setting: Home care and visiting care agency

Specific Skills: Lift, turn or massage patients, Supervise patients’ exercise routines, Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas, Bathe, dress and groom patients, Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher

Additional Skills: Supply and empty bed pans, Serve meal trays and feed patients, Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens, Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms, Maintain inventory of supplies

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Tuberculosis test

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation
