Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $8.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Children’s Ages: School age (6 - 12 years), Over 12 years

Work Setting: Employer’s home

Specific Skills: Supervise and care for children, Help children with homework, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, Tend to emotional well-being of children, Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, Take children to and from school and to appointments, Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children

Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home, Staff accommodation provided, Room and board provided

Other Information: Area: Port Alberni. Care for 9-16 yr olds. Room and board charged at $325/mth. Skills: reading, helping with homework, playing outside and inside, games, providing safe & secure childcare.
