Terms: This is a seasonal, part time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $20.73 per hour for a 34 hour week.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Driver’s Licence (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Dump

Type of Travel: Local

Documentation Knowledge: Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments

Additional Skills: Handle inquiries from customers

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others
