Terms: This is a seasonal, full time job

Salary: will be $15.23 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have First Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, National Lifeguard Service (NLS) Certificate.

Recreational Concentration: Aquatics, Boating, Canoeing, Arts and crafts, Nature interpretation, Nature games and crafts, Rock Climbing, Games

Type of Clients: Children, Adolescents

Work Setting: Camp, Outdoor centre

Activity Focus: Leading/instructing groups, Patrolling/supervising activities

Specific Skills: Demonstrate and instruct athletic, fitness or sports activities and techniques, Instruct groups and individuals in arts and crafts, Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs, Plan and carry out fitness and sports activities, Plan and carry out recreational activities, Attend to clients with special needs, Enforce safety rules and regulations, Understand principles of group dynamics, Schedule activities, Provide lifestyle awareness information

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Child abuse registry check, Driving record check (abstract)

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence

Ability to Supervise: More than 20 people

Work Site Environment: Outdoors

Other Information: Lifeguard will be responsible for providing support to Group Leaders in the areas of water safety, aquatic programming and water activity supervision
