Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working evenings and nights.

Education: The applicant should have some high school.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Type of Travel: Regional, Provincial/territorial

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Specific Skills: Loading and unloading of goods, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing
