Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $25.00 to $28.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Major Work Area: Construction

Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Commercial, Institutional, Industrial, Residential

Area of Specialization: General carpentry, Rough carpentry

Specific Skills: Determine specifications and calculate requirements, Prepare layouts, Build foundations, Build floor beams and subflooring, Build walls and install partitions, Erect prefabricated roof trusses, bracing and sheathing, Build roof trusses, Build porches and verandas, Build and install platforms, scaffolding, ramps and ladders, Operate basic cutting and welding equipment, Operate power tools

Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Instruct apprentices, Supervise other workers

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Work Site Environment: At heights, Noisy, Dusty

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation

Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Continuous learning

Other Information: Experienced Log Builders and Timber Framers required for custom handcrafted log and timber manufacturing company. Must have three years related experience. formal certification not required.
